Asbestos Awareness Training Courses
Course Key Facts
Asbestos Awareness training is for employees who might potentially come into contact with or disturb Asbestos while at work. Many of the students on this course work or supervise in the fields of construction, engineering or facilities management . The course is not designed to qualify individuals to work with Asbestos but rather to avoid disturbing it and stay safe.
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, Regulation 10 states that Asbestos Awareness training should be given to employees whose work could foreseeably disturb the fabric of a building and expose them to asbestos or those who supervise or influence such work.
Course Contents/Learner Outcomes
- The properties of asbestos.
- Effects on health from exposure to asbestos.
- Where asbestos can be found.
- Reducing the risk of asbestos exposure.
- The law regarding asbestos.
- Emergency procedures if accidentally exposed to asbestos.
Course Accreditation/Certification
Successful students can either be awarded a CHT Level 2 Asbestos Awareness certificate which will remain valid for three years or a UKATA Asbestos Awareness certificate which will remain valid for one year. This certification is nationally recognised and qualifies for 3 C.P.D. hours. Assessment, accreditation and internal quality assurance are provided in accordance with The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, Regulation 10.

Course duration 3 to 4 hours.
Up to 15 delegates can attend a group booking at your site.
The course requires students to be able to read and write English, if this going to be a barrier to learning please contact the training company well in advance of the course to discuss how support can be provided.
